TalkTalk Data Breach of 2015: An Analysis

In October 2015, TalkTalk, a UK-based telecommunications company, experienced a substantial data breach affecting around 4% of its customers. Hackers were able to gain access to a wealth of data, including names, addresses, dates of birth, email addresses, telephone numbers, TalkTalk account information, and, in some cases, credit card and bank details.

In response to the breach, TalkTalk enhanced its security measures and offered a free year of credit monitoring alerts to affected customers.

This breach highlighted the need for telecommunication companies to continuously monitor and update their security protocols to protect sensitive customer data.
